Worship Life at First Presbyterian Church


Worship is at the heart of our life together at First Presbyterian Church.  Worship provides the context for our daily living as followers of Jesus. There are two opportunities for worship each Sunday morning. Both worship services include a celebration of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month.

 

 
Alan & Roxanne Fauque

8:15 Contemporary Worship

This 45 minute worship service in the sanctuary features the music of Alan and Roxanne Fauque who set the tone for worship with the soothing combination of Alan's saxophone and Roxanne's piano and vocals. Together they draw in the worshipers for a period of praise, prayer, scripture and message. This service is designed for all people, but especially for those new to the Christian faith. Nursery care is available during this service.


 

10:00 Traditional Worship

This worship service features all the components that have traditionally been a part of Presbyterian worship including hymn singing, scripture reading, prayer and sermon and special music. During the program year, September through May, the worship service is enhanced by the music ministry of the worship choir, Sunday School choir, middle school choir, First Bells handbell choir, and children's chimes choir. This service also includes a time for children and moment for mission. Nursery care is available during this service.

Rockhaven Chapel

Summer Vespers at Rockhaven Chapel

During the summer months, beginning on Father's Day and concluding the Sunday before Labor Day weekend, evening vespers are held each Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in beautiful and rustic Rockhaven Chapel, part of our Rockhaven Camp, located 21 miles south of Bozeman on the way to West Yellowstone. These informal services include an old-fashioned hymn-sing with scripture and meditation based on a theme that is followed throughout the summer. The vesper service is preceded by a potluck supper in the dining hall, and on many Sundays there are special events that happen before supper.

Rockhaven Camp is located at milepost 67 on U.S. Highway 191, 21 miles south of Bozeman.
